Gospel Meets Dharma: Exploring Buddha Nature and Christ Consciousness Through Meditative Practice
The “Mindfulness Revolution” has taken the Western world by storm in the last 50 years. In a short period of time, meditation has come to be regarded as one of the pillars of well-being, earning its place in the pantheon among exercise, nutrition, sleep, and healthy relationships. The upshot is that many of us feel like we “should” meditate. But what does that mean in practice? What is meditation, actually? Is it just one universal practice, or a diverse ecosystem crawling with different organisms? And if each tradition has its own style and approach to meditation, which might be the most beneficial for me?
In our upcoming 3-day meditation retreat in Salt Lake City, Utah, we will deeply explore the foundations of meditative practice, and examine the genuine differences in meditative styles, especially between Buddhism and Christianity. While these two traditions have significant overlap in their approaches to awakening, their differences are equally meaningful.
Whether you gravitate towards Jesus, the Buddha, or are a lover of the wisdom traditions at large, this retreat will offer nourishment and new insights, inviting you to hone the style of meditation that most speaks to you.
Level 2: 7-Day Silent Retreat with Intensive Training in Integral Polarity Practice (Hillsboro, Oregon)
This retreat is a continuation of the curriculum from our 7-day Intensive Training in Integral Polarity Practice. Only students who have completed at least one weeklong IPP training and have a consistent personal practice are invited to join.
