Friends,
I’m sincerely delighted to announce that starting this month, Lower Lights Sangha will meet at Bell Hall on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6pm.
As practitioners, you’re familiar with our monthly gathering — chant, meditation, wisdom essentials — our second night each month will have a different flavor.
Gloria and I have long been influenced and inspired by Sufi spirituality. In the Sufi tradition, there is a practice called sohbet, which literally means “conversation” or “talk”, but more broadly refers to spiritual companionship. It’s the infused warmth you feel when you get together with people you love and share about what really matters, all with an eye on our highest potential as divine humans.
And Sufis aren’t ones to just lecture about big ideas. We sing, we dance, we read poetry, we tell stories. Oh yes, and we feast. We eat delectable foods all in celebration and praise of the Source of Life.
As practitioners, you’re exclusively invited to Lower Lights Sohbet, starting September 24th at Bell Hall. There is no additional charge for it — it’s all in the spirit of exchange and mutual gifting. You’re invited to bring a dish to share, a poem to read, a song to sing, and who knows what love-drunk madness may follow?
Salaam,
Thomas
*Please register if you plan to come. This event will cap at 50 people due to fire code.
