As part of what's been lighting up our hearts at Lower Lights, we want to invite you to join us for our January gathering in Salt Lake City.
We've been sitting with a question for many years now: What does it look like to live with integrity when the spiritual frameworks we've relied on might not be serving us the way they once did?
If we've stepped away from or never had those frameworks, how do we create a life that feels authentic without drifting into aimlessness? For those of us who do feel deep belonging in a tradition, how might we live, in Bonhoeffer's haunting words, a more "costly discipleship?"
It's a delicate balance. Too much structure imposed from the outside can feel suffocating. But no structure at all can leave us feeling unmoored.
This year at Lower Lights, we're exploring what it means to create a personal rule of life—a pattern of living that you author for yourself, one informed by collective wisdom and oriented toward what you deeply value. We're leaning into this exploration because what we've found after 15 years of grassroots spiritual activism is that beyond "high-demand religion," more and more people seek to articulate a "high-integrity spirituality." This, of course, is not to the exclusion of religion, necessarily.
At this gathering, we'll introduce this theme and begin the conversation together. This is the start of an ongoing exploration we'll continue throughout the year—whether you're rooted in a tradition and sensing there's more to discover, you've stepped away from organized religion, or you're charting your own path entirely.
Please plan on street parking.
Drop-in cost: $25
