Lower Lights School of Wisdom is a community of contemplative practice with commitments to the Buddhist, Christian and Sufi traditions. We meet in Salt Lake City, Utah, and online to practice awakening and passionate engagement in the world. 

We draw from ancient and living wisdom traditions while honoring the particular paths and experiences each member of our community brings. You don't need to arrive with certainty, or be anyone other than who you are, to begin practicing with us.

Meet Our Community

We are a community of seekers and practitioners, each bringing our own questions, experiences and spiritual inheritances.

Some of us are deeply rooted in religious traditions. Others are finding new relationships with their traditions or exploring contemplative practice for the first time. We gather in Utah and beyond, united by a shared commitment to a more wholehearted way of being.

Founded by Thomas McConkie in 2017, Lower Lights continues to grow through the participation, wisdom, and care of its community.
