Lower Lights Sangha Monthly Gathering (ONLINE)

The Poor Among Us

One of the unique aspects of Christianity as a Wisdom tradition is its emphasis on caring for the poor. Almost by definition, to live an authentic life as a Christian one must learn to care for the poor and the needy as one’s very own being (Matt. 25).

At a time when the entire nation is reflecting on the institutions and machinery of oppression—which, we would add, disproportionately harm people of color—we want to take this time at Lower Lights to ask ourselves as individuals, as well as a community, how we might live into a new reality together.

A challenging question lies at the heart of this inquiry: in the world of material abundance, how much is enough? At what point do we recognize we have more than enough to satisfy our basic needs and can then advocate for the basic needs of others, indeed, of all humanity?

Please join us July 15th in our intention to create a potent field of presence, capable of shifting the current consensus reality in powerful new ways.
