*Date Change* Lower Lights Sangha Monthly Gathering (ONLINE)

The Cries of the World

The name of “Kwan Yin”, one of the principal Bodhisattvas of the Buddhist tradition, literally means “she who hears the cries of the world.” This appears to be a universal motif of Wisdom. In Christianity, the “Word” is made flesh and God descends to the heart of human suffering in order to redeem it.

As cities in our country burn and a novel coronavirus spreads unprecedented destruction in human life, does anyone hear our cries? More poignantly, can we even hear one another’s cries?

Join us this month in a practice of becoming the Kwan Yin—Wisdom in Compassionate Action—letting our hearts open and be moved to respond to these times in the unique ways we feel called.
