Lower Lights Sangha Monthly Gathering (ONLINE)

Loss and Gain

Buddhism speaks of the “Eight Worldly Preoccupations”, essentially, dramas that snare us in a never-ending round of struggle. We hope for happiness, fame, praise and gain, while we fear suffering, insignificance, blame and loss.

The global health crisis throws this drama into bold relief: what are we afraid of losing? What have we already lost and have not yet come to terms with?

Ultimately, awareness practice can help us establish a sense of identity deeper than gain or loss, beyond the struggles of our animal body and anxious minds.

During this time of intensified suffering, we invite you to come practice with us and to let your practice be a balm for the world.
